Giddy with success from the Butterfly Panel Mark II I decided to try something else.

Finished Blossom Panel

This pattern came from a piece of wrapping paper. Again I'm not happy with the colours, although I actually quite like the pink on the flowers. Yet again I coloured the icing for the flooding, and yet again I don't like how it turned out. I tried a metallic food colouring on the outlines as the paper had similar metallic printing but I don't think that that worked either.

Perhaps the silver would have been better if the background was darker all over.

I'm not going to put the step by step tutorial up as I used exactly the same steps as on the butterfly panel.

Lessons learned:

Finally I've learned my lesson: Flooding with coloured icing is always disappointing. Unfortunately I'm bound to forget this and try again, but for now at least that's my golden rule - ALWAYS PAINT, DON'T PRE-COLOUR.
