Halloween is just around the corner, so here is my easy guide to making sugarpaste (or marzipan) pumpkins)

Start off with a ball of orange coloured sugarpaste and a knitting needle, or cocktail stick or skewer (or similar narrow, round stick)

Using the stick, press tracks into the ball to create the lines just as on a pumpkin:

Finally, put the pumpkin down and squish it slightly with your finger to flatten the top and bottom.

Finally use the stick to poke in some eyes and a mouth. If you have some black food colouring you could paint some in to make the eyes and mouth pop out a bit more.
