Home made is radically different from shop bought (not that there's anything wrong shop bought) plus you get the chance to fill it with what every you like. Depending on your filling, this cake can also be fat-free!


Fruitcake. Classic for weddings and christmas as it keeps very well. Some people even keep the top layer of their wedding cake to re-ice for their first child's christening.


Chocolate cake. Rich, tasty, luxuriant. This one should be beautifully moist. Slice horizontally and turn into a gateaux or serve warm with ice cream.
